What You’ll Do:
- Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks to a high standard, following all policies and procedures
- Safely handle waste disposal, cleaning equipment, and materials in line with infection control and COSHH regulations
- Replenish consumables and maintain stock of cleaning supplies and equipment
- Perform a range of domestic duties (e.g. cleaning surfaces, floors, sanitary areas, bed cleaning, dishwashing, curtain changes)
- Respond to ad-hoc cleaning requests and report any issues to supervisors promptly
- Deliver excellent customer care with clear communication, professionalism, and respect for patient dignity
- Comply with all training, audits, policies, confidentiality, and infection prevention requirements
- Follow health & safety procedures, use PPE correctly, and report incidents or risks appropriately
What You Bring:
- NVQ in Healthcare Support Services or BICSc CPSS (desirable)
- Experience working in a cleaning team, including handling waste and unpleasant environments
- Previous experience in a healthcare and/or customer-facing role
- Strong communication skills with patients, visitors, and colleagues
- Ability to show empathy, care, and compassion
- Able to work independently, flexibly, and under pressure
- Follows instructions, standards, and procedures accurately
- Team player with a positive attitude and good customer service skills
- Basic literacy skills
- Physically capable of pushing equipment and moving light furniture
- Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene
