Summary
A wonderful two-day, live-out sole charge nanny position has become available, working with a professional and welcoming family in St Albans, Hertfordshire. This family is looking for a kind, calm and organised nanny who can help care for a happy and active nearly four-year-old little boy. The family is moving from Australia to the UK, so someone who can provide stability and can help with this transition is required.
The hours will be 07.00-19.00 on Monday and Tuesday (24 hours/week). There could be occasional ad hoc additional hours and for babysitting, but these will be mutually agreed and paid as overtime.
The family would like you to provide a balanced approach to development, supporting the little boy as he reaches his milestones. This should include a structured daily routine including a range of indoor activities such as reading stories, singing, puzzles, and imaginative play, as well as plenty of time outdoors, including walks and trips to the park. You will also be able to take him to age-appropriate activities and groups, ensuring his happiness and safety at all times.
The family employ a cleaner each week, so your responsibilities will include nursery duties such as overseeing his laundry, maintaining his bedroom and toys, and cooking healthy and nutritious meals for him each day.
You will end the day with the dinner and bath routine, ensuring that all used rooms are left tidy, ready to hand over to Mum.
From September when the little boy starts school, the role will evolve a little. During school hours, responsibilities will include:
• Preparing school lunches and snacks
• Batch cooking simple, healthy meals for the week
• Children’s laundry and wardrobe organisation
• Maintaining organisation of toys, books, and bedroom spaces
• Running occasional local errands (e.g. groceries, pharmacy, post office)
• Preparing activities for after school (play ideas, outings)
• Light household support (dishwasher, vacuuming when required, etc)
After school, you will:
• Collect from school
• Support with play, relaxation, and emotional regulation after the school day
• Oversee dinner and bath
You should be a careful and confident driver, with your own car, and a with a clean licence. Duty mileage will be paid.
