We have an exciting opportunity to shape the future of AHP (Allied Health Professional) services, influence transformation and make a meaningful impact on patient care, workforce development and service innovation at scale.

We are seeking an inspiring and experienced AHP to provide strategic, professional and operational leadership for AHP services within Surgery Care Group.

This senior role is pivotal in leading and developing the AHP workforce to deliver high‑quality, safe and effective patient‑centred care, supported by robust clinical governance and a strong culture of continuous improvement.

As a key member of the Care Group leadership team, you will work in close partnership with the Associate Chief AHP to deliver Trust strategy, assurance framework and transformation programmes. You will provide visible, compassionate leadership, promote a positive and inclusive organisational culture, and ensure AHP services are aligned with Trust priorities and wider regional and national agendas.

The post holder will deputise for the Associate Chief AHP when required and represent the Trust in internal and external forums, acting as an ambassador for the AHP professions.
• Provide senior professional and strategic leadership for AHPs within Surgery Care Group, ensuring safe, high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

• Lead, inspire and develop the AHP workforce, promoting a positive culture, staff wellbeing, career development and retention.

• Work closely with the Associate Chief AHP to deliver Trust Strategy, assurance framework and Care Group objectives.

• Oversee clinical governance, quality, safety and risk management, providing assurance to Care Group and Trust leadership.

• Lead and contribute to service improvement, transformation and redesign programmes, using quality improvement methodologies.

• Build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams and partner organisations, representing the Trust internally and externally.

• Support effective workforce planning, education, research and audit, ensuring services are sustainable and evidence‑based.

• Manage delegated resources and budgets responsibly, contributing to business planning and cost improvement initiatives.

• Deputise for the Associate Chief AHP and participate in the Trust’s senior on‑call arrangements as required.
