Summary
We are looking for a personal assistant for our client who is a happy and curious 12 year old male with a complex neurodevelopmental disorder.
You will be supporting our client to get out and about and enjoy his time outside of school. This might be going to parks, out for walks, to a café or to a museum or library. Our client loves being outdoors, animals, the cinema, cycling and going out on the bus. Thinking of other activities for our client would also be ideal.
Being patient, kind and understanding would be ideal to support our client in his activities. Our client is usually quite safety conscious but can often become distracted, which could lead to danger around roads or busy environments. A person who is observant and has a good level of fitness would be ideal in this role. Our client is friendly but struggles with social cues. He finds transitions challenging and strives on routine, so reliability in this role would be key.
Applicants must have a caring attitude, have a good sense of humour, be reliable with a positive and flexible approach to work. Being a driver would be of benefit but is not essential as our client has a bus pass.
This role requires an enhanced check through PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups).
