At Skipton Business Finance, we strive to be more than just a financial provider. We aim to be a strategic partner, guiding businesses towards sustainable growth and prosperity. Join our team as we navigate the dynamic landscape of business finance together.

What Will You Be Doing?

As a senior member of our commercial team, you will play a pivotal role in positioning SBF as a trusted specialist lender to UK SMEs, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to deliver outstanding client experiences and commercially strong deal structures.

  • Driving New Business Acquisition: Sourcing and writing new business opportunities within credit policy and risk appetite.
  • Key Business Introducer Management: Building and nurturing relationships with key business introducers (KBI’s)
  • Representing SBF Externally: Attending industry events, networking forums, and SBF-sponsored activities to elevate our regional market presence.
  • Supporting Portfolio & Operations: Working collaboratively with Portfolio Directors, Relationship Managers and Operations colleagues to ensure seamless transitions from prospect to client.
  • Ensuring Strong Credit Behaviours: Acting as a First Line of Defence, completing robust financial analysis, risk assessments and supporting the structuring of high-quality deals.
  • Driving Regional Campaigns: Partnering with Marketing to deliver targeted regional activity and PR to enhance visibility and lead-generation.

What Do We Need From You?

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • A proven track record in corporate or commercial finance sales, ideally within Invoice Finance and/or ABL.
  • Strong financial analysis capability, with the ability to interpret management accounts, forecasts and cash flow requirements.
  • An established network of introducers within the commercial finance ecosystem.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills with senior decision-makers.
  • Experience structuring Invoice Finance or ABL solutions, understanding risk, collateral and compliance considerations.
  • The ability to work independently in a field-based role, meeting deadlines, managing priorities and maintaining high levels of activity.
  • Experience working within a regulated or risk-conscious financial services environment.
  • A collaborative approach, aligned to SBF’s values of Teamwork, Ownership, Service Excellence and Innovation.

What's In It For You?

Skipton values work/life balance and we are proud to support hybrid and flexible working, where possible. We have a newly refurbished head office which offers a vibrant and collaborative working space.

We have a range of other benefits available to you including:

  • Quarterly performance related bonus scheme
  • Car allowance
  • 25 days standard annual leave + bank holidays + rising 1 day per year of service to a maximum of 30 days
  • Holiday trading scheme allowing the ability to buy and sell additional annual leave days
