About the role
As an Operations Manager, you will support the Regional Director South by leading the operational and commercial performance of the framework within the region. You will translate strategy into effective delivery and ensure strong performance across time, cost, quality and safety. You will provide leadership across all projects, strengthen operational resilience and ensure high quality service delivery that meets regulatory, contractual and customer expectations.
Operational Leadership and Service Delivery
Lead day to day operations in line with regional strategy
Support delivery planning, forecasting and programme development
Act as senior operational contact ensuring KPIs and SLAs are achieved
Provide operational updates and performance reporting
Lead and coach operational teams to ensure capability and engagement
Manage resource planning across maintenance, reactive works and project support
Ensure accurate job planning, scheduling and reporting through Ipsum systems
Monitor performance, address issues and implement improvements
Drive operational resilience and continuous improvement
Safety, Compliance and Quality
Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards
Champion a strong safety culture
Lead incident response and restoration activities
Review incidents and audits and embed corrective actions
Ensure delivery meets company, client and regulatory expectations
Customer and Stakeholder Management
Manage escalations professionally to achieve positive outcomes
Build strong relationships with customers, partners and stakeholders
Represent the region at client forums and operational reviews
Support development of Ipsum’s brand reputation and future opportunities
About you
Qualifications and Professional Memberships
Experience in at least two of the following sectors: Construction, Utilities or Framework delivery
Proven leadership experience managing operational teams
Strong organisational, planning and decision making abilities
Experience in customer facing or contractual environments
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Full UK Driving Licence
Knowledge and Experience
Strong leadership and team building skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to manage unexpected challenges with creative problem solving
Solid commercial, financial and analytical understanding
Proven delivery of key targets and resource management
Experience working with different contractual arrangements
Track record delivering project portfolios
Ability to thrive in a high performing environment
