Shift Pattern (4-Week Rota)

  • Week 1: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:00pm
  • Week 2: Monday - Friday, 12:00pm - 8:00pm
  • Week 3: Monday - Wednesday 9:00am - 5:00pm | Saturday & Sunday 8:00am - 8:00pm
  • Week 4: Wednesday - Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm

About the Role

A respected homelessness support provider across Oxfordshire is seeking a Senior Support Worker to join their dedicated team supporting individuals experiencing homelessness and complex health needs.

This role forms part of a specialist Step-Up and Step-Down accommodation service, supporting individuals leaving hospital under the Discharge to Assess model, as well as people who may otherwise be at risk of hospital admission and require short-term accommodation and support.

Working within a small, dynamic, and supportive team, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred support, managing complex cases, and helping individuals move towards stability and independent living.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of a safe and supportive accommodation service
  • Assess and manage risk for individuals accessing the service
  • Deliver case management for clients with complex needs
  • Work collaboratively with health services, housing providers, and community organisations
  • Develop and implement holistic support and move-on plans
  • Support residents in identifying suitable move-on options within six weeks
  • Maintain Housing Benefit claims and housing management tasks
  • Manage challenging situations while ensuring the safety of residents and staff
  • Maintain accurate records and update internal systems
  • Report safeguarding concerns promptly in line with procedures
  • Build positive relationships with residents, professionals, and local services
  • Work as part of a rota including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Understanding of the challenges faced by people experiencing homelessness
  • Experience working in a frontline, face-to-face support role
  • Experience supporting individuals with complex needs, including:
  • Mental health
  • Physical health needs
  • Substance misuse
Knowledge of trauma-informed approaches Strong communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage challenging situations Good IT skills including Microsoft Office Strong organisational and case management skills

Desirable

  • Experience in supported housing, hostels, or homelessness services
  • Understanding of move-on pathways and housing options
