In addition to the hourly rate this position also offers 12.07% holiday pay and a generous 28% Night premium per hour for each night shift worked.
Our established team is highly regarded for its excellent customer service and willingness to go the extra mile for its customers. The Monitoring and Response Centre, is based within Colchester City Centre
Helpline– Delivers a telecare and a falls response service to customers across Essex, aiding and reassurance to elderly or vulnerable individuals 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
The role involves, but is not limited to, answering Helpline calls, responding to emergency alarm calls, delivering help and support in the event of a mishap or sudden illness, carrying out first aid, manual handling, use of a variety of lifting equipment and equipment installation. The role also includes carrying out demonstrations for new potential customers, completing scheduled visits to existing customers and taking part in activities to gain new customers.
Computer skills are required for this role and the successful candidate will be able to complete administrative tasks and record information effectively. Monitoring & Response Officers have the use of Helpline vehicles during their shifts, in order to attend response calls and visit people’s homes and, on a few occasions, you may be required to travel and work alone.
You need to have an understanding of the needs of vulnerable people, first aid skills, the ability to remain calm and take decisions in challenging situations and be able to physically assist people needing help with their personal mobility.
Full training will be given for the successful candidate.
You must have a full clean driving licence.
Each shift will bring its own unique challenges and you will need to remain calm under pressure, be compassionate and able to communicate effectively to a range of customers with diverse needs and willing to cover tasks within the wider Helpline business if required.
For this role you will be required to work various shifts which includes weekends and bank holidays, times of the shifts are:
Early
0600 – 1400
Late
1400 – 2200
Night
2200 – 0600
