Summary
This is small and friendly dog grooming salon that are seeking a new apprentice to join their team. The last apprentice went on to be offered a full time job!
A fantastic opportunity to join a friendly team to train to become a qualified dog groomer.
Duties will include, but not limited to;
Answering telephone calls and working with the booking software to arrange appointments
Bathing dogs and learning drying technics
Brushing and preparing dogs for the grooming process
Keeping clean bath, and towels daily
Nail clipping & ear cleaning
Learning about health and wellbeing of dogs
Building towards styling and grooming
Desired Skills and Qualities
Candidate must be hard working, and have a passion and desire to succeed
Candidate must be confident with dogs.
They must be punctual and available to work to the best of their ability
They must have a keenness to learn about all aspects of dogs, from breeds to behaviours
An ability of social skills needed to answer phones and talk to customers – doing this in a polite and professional manner
Qualifications
Applicants MUST NOT already hold a level 2 in Dog Grooming
GCSEs or equivalent in maths and English are desired
Future Prospects
Once you are qualified there may be the option of a full time permanent job at the salon.
Dog groomer
Training
Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment.
The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Dog Grooming Apprenticeship Standard.
The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship.
The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship
Things to consider
KEITS Training Services Ltd reserves the right to close the vacancy earlier than the listed closing date should the need arise.
The apprentice will be working to build a portfolio of evidence and will be required to pass a knowledge test and an End Point Assessment (EPA) to complete the apprenticeship.
