Summary

Priory Hospital Altrincham is looking to recruit a Healthcare Assistant to join the team!

Pay Rate: £12.60 per hour.

Shift Patterns: Day shifts are 7:15 am - 7:45 pm, night shifts are 7:15 pm - 7:45 am.

This role is a mix of days, nights, and weekends. For example, 1 month nights -2 months days rotational. 2 in 4 weekends.

Priory Hospital Altrincham provides expert treatment for a range of mental health conditions and addictions. The hospital comprises two inpatient units, providing specialist care for adults with a range of mental health challenges and addictions. Altrincham also provides established, evidence-based outpatient treatment for a wide range of mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety disorders, stress, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and bipolar disorder.


What you’ll be doing



You will be part of a compassionate team that is committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity, and treatment of patients.

Responsibilities:

Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies
Providing support to achieve everyday goals
Manage some behaviours that challenge
Assistant and support to attend medical appointments
Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff
Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks
Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plans

Qualifications and Skills

Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
Empathy, understanding and patience
Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
Competent in verbal and written English
A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
