As Peatland Works Supervisor you will be managed by the Peatland Restoration Project Manager to assist with an ambitious project of DEFRA funded peatland restoration across the North District. You will assist with project plans, contracting and site management and supervision.
This role is offered as a fixed term appointment until 31 March 2029, with the possibility of extension.

Where you’ll work…
The post will be based at Forestry England's Bellingham Office, with hybrid home working available. Travel across England will be required.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Supervise operational sites to identify health, safety, and environmental issues, and take corrective action.
- Monitor progress against the contract or work schedule.
- Accurately record site visits and keep the Forester and other colleagues informed of progress and other issues in a timely way.
- Conduct site surveying and basic mapping to support peatland restoration planning, including identifying and recording drainage features, and collecting monitoring data where appropriately experienced.
- Assist in leading and managing staff and contractors to deliver outputs and results.
- Communicate appropriately with colleagues and all stakeholders including landowners, neighbours, contractors, customers, and members of the public.
