Summary

Who we’re looking for:
We are looking for individuals who are passionate about teaching and able to support learners to achieve their individual learning goals, to join our Community Learning team in Somerset, to include subject areas such as:
• Gardening
• Cookery
• Traditional Skills (e.g Pyrography, Sewing, Willow Weaving, Woodwork, Weaving, Recycling & Using Sustainable materials in arts/crafts, Textile crafts, Garden Craft etc)
• ‘Turn Your Creative Hobby into a Business Opportunity’ - Art/Craft to business specialists
• Business Skills (including business start-up, marketing for business, accounting & budgeting)
• Family Learning (helping your child and working with your child):
a) Arts & Crafts for children
b) All Early Years and Primary Curriculum subjects/understanding of the way children are currently taught in school
c) Design Technology
d) STEM Skills
e) Coding/AI Skills – for business/education/daily living tasks etc
f) SEND & Neurodiversity
g) Parental Coaching Skills
• Independent Living Skills

Our Community Learning provision includes a wide range of non-accredited short courses and workshops, working closely with organisations across Somerset, to meet the varying needs of adults within the local communities.
Community learning aims to provide people with opportunities to achieve their learning and career aspirations, or to develop stronger communities.
The role requires you to develop and deliver a range of courses and workshops, either face to face or online, to meet the needs and interests of learners and the community in Somerset.
If you do not already hold a Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training or higher you will be required to work towards gaining this.
In order to be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate how you are able to meet SS&L’s core values: Collaboration, growth, excellence and innovation
