A well-established independent small animal veterinary practice in Aberdeenshire is seeking an experienced Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join its friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for a veterinary professional looking for a flexible role with no out-of-hours commitments and strong work-life balance.
The practice is located in a picturesque village near Aberdeen and offers a loyal client base, modern facilities, and a collaborative working environment.
The Role
The successful Veterinary Surgeon will be responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care across a mix of consultations and routine surgical procedures. This role is suitable for a confident vet with at least 2 years’ UK practice experience.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing high standards of small animal veterinary care
• Carrying out a variety of routine and elective surgeries
• Managing a varied caseload of consultations
• Building strong relationships with clients and patients
• Working collaboratively with a supportive and experienced veterinary team
This position offers:
• Flexible full-time or part-time working options
• 1 in 4 Saturdays with time off in lieu
• No Sundays, no out-of-hours, and no on-call duties
• Clinical freedom and autonomy in decision-making

About the Practice
This is a successful, independent veterinary practice established in 1987, operating across six branches in and around Aberdeenshire. The group includes:
• 3 RCVS-accredited GP practices
• 3 consulting-only branches
• 2 nurse training centres
The practice has a highly experienced and stable team, with some veterinary surgeons having over 20 years’ service. It offers a collaborative environment with a mix of experienced vets and recent graduates.
Facilities and equipment include:
• Digital X-ray
• Dental X-ray
• Endoscopy
• Doppler ultrasound
• Comprehensive in-house laboratory

Candidate Requirements
• RCVS registered Veterinary Surgeon
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in small animal practice

• A positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to develop
