Teaching Personnel is proud to be recruiting multiple Autism Well-Being Assistants for a specialist education setting in Horsham. This role is designed for individuals who are naturally calm, emotionally intuitive and motivated by supporting young people's well-being - not just their academic progress.
You do not need to be a qualified teacher to excel in this role. What matters most is who you are: your patience, empathy, resilience and ability to form meaningful, trusting relationships with pupils who experience the world differently.
Important: Due to the school's location, applicants must be able to drive to the school or obtain a very reliable lift in order to be considered for this role.
As an Autism Well-Being Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn. You will work closely with teaching staff and specialists to support emotional regulation, communication, behaviour and independence throughout the school day.
This is a relationship-led role where consistency, understanding and emotional intelligence are key. You will often be the trusted adult helping pupils navigate challenges, celebrate progress and develop confidence.
