environmental impact, ensure regulatory compliance, and support long-term investment in our housing stock. This role is central to
achieving our organisational sustainability ambitions, including SHIFT Gold accreditation and improved energy performance across
all homes.

Working Pattern:

This is a hybrid role, offering a mix of office-based, site-based, and home working. The team has a dedicated office day every
Thursday in our Warrington office to support collaboration and team engagement. The role will also require travel across our
offices in Warrington, St Helens, and Liverpool, in line with business needs. Please note that mileage or travel expenses outside
of your contractual office base can be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll take the lead on environmental and sustainability across Torus Group, shaping and delivering strategies that make a real
impact. Your responsibilities will include:

* Leading the development and delivery of our environmental and sustainability strategy, policies, and performance
* Maintaining and enhancing our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ensuring ongoing compliance and successful audits
* Driving initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and support decarbonisation programmes
* Managing environmental data, reporting (including SECR and SHIFT), and performance monitoring across the Group
* Developing and delivering action plans aligned with ESOS, SHIFT, and wider sustainability goals
* Working closely with Asset Management and investment teams to embed sustainability into long-term planning
* Supporting retrofit programmes and funding bids to improve our housing stock
* Providing expert advice to support achieving EPC Band C by 2030
* Leading engagement and cultural change across the organisation, including chairing the Greener Torus Group
* Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, regulators, and external partners
* Preparing reports and insights for senior leadership, Board, and governance forums

What we’re looking for:

* A degree (or equivalent experience) in Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related field
* Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and best practice
* Proven experience managing and improving ISO 14001 systems
* Experience within housing, construction, or the built environment
* Experience delivering organisation-wide sustainability or environmental improvement programmes
* A recognised professional membership (e.g. IEMA) or working towards chartered status
* Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
* Strong leadership and influencing skills, with experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders
* Experience working with environmental data, reporting frameworks (e.g. SECR, SHIFT), and compliance schemes such as ESOS
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement

Interview Process:

Candidates will be invited to a two-stage interview process. The first stage will take place via Microsoft Teams on Friday 10th
April. Successful candidates will then be invited to attend a second stage face-to-face interview at our Liverpool City Centre
office on Tuesday 21st April, which will include a presentation and a competency-based interview to assess relevant experience,
knowledge, and skills for the role.
