Summary
Successful and busy wholesale food business is looking for a full time porter for our production kitchen in South London. We produce high quality, handmade savoury pastries, pies and quiche. We are looking for someone who is hardworking and a team player. Kitchen experience is preferred, but we are more than willing to train someone who has good work ethic and a good attitude.
Favourable hours; straight shifts only. Ideally, hours would be approximately 8am to 5pm, 5 days per week, Monday - Friday, straight shift. Meal provided on site during your break.
-Cleaning and maintaining hygiene standards in kitchen
-Lifting and sorting inventory / boxes
-Food Hygiene level 2 or higher (we can pay for training)
-Cleaning and sterilising countertops, kitchen walls, stoves, ovens, grills and sinks
-Maintaining the food storage areas like freezers and refrigerators
-Receiving deliveries and organising them in the kitchen
-Washing dirty dishes like cutlery, pots, cutting boards and pans or loading dishes into the dishwasher
-Removing kitchen waste from waste containers and disposing of them properly
-Cleaning and maintaining cooking equipment like cookers, pots and food mixers
-Supporting the Kitchen Manager in basic food preparation like cutting ingredients, peeling and washing food items
-Providing assistance to kitchen staff, as needed
