Vehicle Technician - Plymouth
Our client, a reputable independent garage in Plymouth, is seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Technician to join their dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced professionals looking to enhance their career within a busy, well-established workshop environment. The successful Technician will have access to a supportive induction and growth pathway, working on a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.

- Competitive basic salary up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience

- Varied workload covering both routine servicing and heavy mechanical repairs
- Working hours Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, with optional Saturday overtime
- Generous holiday entitlement of 20 days plus bank holidays
Duties:
- Performing diagnostics and repairs on a diverse range of vehicle makes and models as a Vehicle Technician
- Conducting routine services such as oil changes, brake replacements, and suspension work
- Fitting components including cam belts, brakes, and suspension parts
- Repairing and replacing gearboxes and engines, avoiding strip/rebuild work on automatic transmissions
- Assisting with MOT Testing, either as a qualified tester or undergoing training
- Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, to high standards, and within specified timescales
- Maintaining accurate records of all repairs and services carried out
- Contributing to a safe and clean workshop environment
Requirements of this Vehicle Technician role:
- Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a busy workshop setting
- Strong diagnostics and heavy mechanical repair skills
- Good knowledge of electrical systems and engine work
- MOT Tester certification is preferable; training can be provided if required
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Effective team player capable of working independently
- Full UK driving licence
