Summary

Grounds Operative

Are you experienced in grounds maintenance or looking to join an active outdoor team? We're hiring Grounds Operatives to support the upkeep of a local authority's parks and open spaces.

What You'll Do:

  • Operate mowers, plant, and grounds machinery (training provided)
  • Drive crew vehicles and lead teams at multiple locations
  • Follow clear instructions from management and maintain public parks and recreation grounds
  • Ensure safe working by using all provided personal protective equipment
  • Comply with health and safety guidance at all times

Shifts & Pay:

  • Up to 40 hours per week
  • Typical shifts: 7:30am-4:00pm Mon-Thu, 7:30am-3:00pm Fri or 6:00am-2:30pm Mon-Wed, 6:00am-2:00pm Thu-Fri
  • No work on Bank Holidays
  • £14.62 - £16.04 per hour (dependent on role)

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience with grounds machinery or willingness to learn
  • Full UK driving licence (held for 1+ years)
  • Reliable, safety-focused, and a good team player
  • Ability to follow instructions and adapt to different sites across the borough
  • Flexibility with working hours
