Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Early Years Lecturer to join a reputable college in the West Midlands on a part-time basis. This is a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire learners pursuing qualifications in Early Years education and childcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality teaching across Early Years courses (e.g., Level 1-3 Childcare, T Levels, or CACHE qualifications)

  • Plan engaging and interactive lessons aligned with curriculum and awarding body requirements

  • Support learners in developing practical knowledge of child development, safeguarding, and early years practice

  • Assess, mark, and provide constructive feedback on assignments and coursework

  • Monitor learner progress and implement targeted support where required

  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievement

  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes

  • Support learners in progressing to employment, apprenticeships, or higher education within the childcare sector

Requirements
  • Relevant qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or a related field (Level 3 minimum; Degree preferred)

  • Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent) or willingness to work towards one

  • Experience teaching Early Years or Childcare in a Further Education or similar setting

  • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework and safeguarding practices

  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills

  • Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
