Are you a qualified ACA or ACCA with a strong technical background and excellent client relationship skills? We are seeking an experienced Client Accounts Manager to join a growing accountancy firm in Birmingham on a part-time basis.
This senior operational role will see you take responsibility for managing the delivery, quality, and workflow of accounts and tax return preparation across the client portfolio. You will work closely with the Director to ensure that all client work is completed to the highest standards and delivered on time.
Your Role:
• Take full responsibility for the preparation and review of statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, personal tax returns, CGT returns, ATED returns, and CT61 returns.
• Review work prepared by the delivery team to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.
• Act as the senior escalation point for technical queries and delivery-related challenges.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and ready for final UK review and sign-off.
• Maintain thorough documentation and review notes to support quality assurance.
Team Leadership & Quality Control
• Lead, mentor, and support the accounts and tax return delivery team on a day-to-day basis.
• Allocate work, manage workloads, and ensure deadlines are met.
• Provide constructive feedback and guidance to improve technical standards.
• Support the ongoing training and development of team members.
• Lead by example, setting high standards for professionalism and accountability.
Workflow & Operational Management
• Oversee the end-to-end workflow for accounts and tax return preparation.
• Communicate with clients to gather necessary records and provide ad hoc advice and support.
• Monitor job progress, deadlines, and team capacity to ensure efficient delivery.
About You:
• ACA or ACCA qualified with at least 7 years post-qualification experience in practice.
• Proven ability to take ownership of delivery quality and workflow management.
• Comfortable engaging with clients and ensuring great experiences.
• Strong experience in leading and supporting a delivery team.
• Highly organised, proactive, and detail focused.
