Start: As soon as possibleWoodfield School is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to join our pastoral team, supporting our Animal Care provision and delivering small group interventions within our secondary SEND setting.Key Responsibilities • Feed, water, and monitor all school animals each day
• Clean cages, tanks, enclosures, and surrounding areas
• Check animals for signs of illness or injury and report concerns promptly
• Maintain accurate records of feeding, health checks, and cleaning schedules
• Assist teachers and students during animal related lessons or activities
• Ensure all animals are handled safely and appropriately
• Order or request supplies such as food, bedding, and cleaning equipment
• Follow all school policies and health & safety guidelines
• Support the development of a positive, caring environment for animals and studentsRequirements • Enjoy working with animals and children
• Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
• Basic knowledge of animal care (training can be provided)
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe environment
• Physically able to carry out tasks such as lifting bags of food, cleaning enclosures, and standing for periods of timeAbout Woodfield Woodfield is a thriving specialist secondary school for pupils with learning and additional needs.
