Summary

Sedgemoor Manor School is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated Therapy Team.We are looking for an enthusiastic, caring and motivated individual who will play an integral role within our multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will ideally have experience working as a Speech and Language Therapist with children and autistic young people, and will work closely with other professionals to provide high‑quality support to our students. The role reports directly to the SENDCo. Sedgemoor Manor is a specialist day school for young people who have needs associated with a diagnosis on the autistic spectrum/SPLD and are aged between 7 and 18 years. Our tailored approach means we are able to support young people with a wide range of learning difficulties. We accept that young people who are referred to us may have previously experienced a ‘cycle of failure’ and our aim is to have a transformational impact on their lives by them experiencing a ‘culture of success’. We support all young people to achieve successful outcomes so that they can progress to experience fulfilling and rewarding lives. We are looking for a practitioner with a passion and knowledge surrounding ASD and sensory processing disorders. The successful applicant will be HCPC registered and will hold BSc Speech and Language Therapy or profession specific equivalent qualification. Experience of working with young people with complex needs is essential. You will have an experience/awareness of Sensory Processing Disorders and the application of sensory integration theory in practice, assessment and clinical observations and you will be able to demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to delivering treatment approaches. This role will have a strategic element, whereby you will assess, deliver and review therapeutic provision to our young people. The applicant will be proactive in disseminating best ways of working to the wider support team and will be confident to deliver onsite profession specific training to colleagues as and when required.The applicant will work in close partnership with a diverse team of Therapy and educational specialists to deliver tailored support that meets the needs of each young person. The applicant will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated support staff, committed to delivering the very best care. The successful applicant will receive a bespoke internal induction programme and the ability to network with Therapists across other Aspris sites.
