Summary



We're looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our Environment Agency team working on our major environmental project, Bridgwater Tidal Barrier



Location: Bridgwater

Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us.



We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in managing the commercial resources, processes, costs and contractual arrangements for the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier contracts. You'll be at the heart of delivering forecast turnover and margin through effective contract placement and excellent commercial management. Working within a collaborative environment, you'll help assess and mitigate commercial risks whilst maximising cash flow.



What will you be responsible for?

As a Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll be working within the commercial team, supporting them in delivering the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier project to the highest standards.



Your day to day will include:

-Managing project budgets, forecasts and cost plans whilst estimating quantities and costs of materials, time and labour

-Understanding and implementing contractual obligations, deliverables and KPI requirements under NEC4 forms of contract

-Leading the procurement process, including preparing tender documents, evaluating bids and selecting subcontractors

-Negotiating contract terms that are favourable, equitable and protect Kier from commercial risk

-Identifying and assessing the impact of changes and compensation events, including producing contractual notifications



What are we looking for?

This role of Managing Quantity Surveyor is great for you if you hold:



-Excellent numerical and financial management skills

-Experienced in NEC4 contracts and have worked on large civil engineering projects

-Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills

-Proficient in MS Excel and standard office applications, with experience in standard forms of contracts and cost control processes

-Strong people skills and team management
