Are you an experienced KS1 practitioner who loves the energy of an "end-of-key-stage" year? Join our local primary network as a Year 2 Supply Teacher and help pupils finish their infant's journey with confidence and curiosity.
Flexibility Without the Administrative Burden
We are seeking skilled Year 2 Teachers to provide high-quality cover across a variety of local schools. This role is perfect for those who enjoy the academic challenge of Year 2-balancing curriculum standards with creative delivery-without the stress of full-time data tracking.
- Impactful Teaching: Play a vital role in a child's final year of Key Stage 1, ensuring they are prepared for the transition to Juniors (KS2).
- SATs Support: Use your expertise to guide pupils through assessment periods with a calm, supportive, and "no-pressure" approach.
- Freedom & Variety: Work across different school environments, from creative arts-led schools to those with a heavy focus on academic excellence.
- Weekly Pay: Competitive daily rates of £140 - £233, paid every Friday via Randstad.
Your Role as a Year 2 Specialist
As a Year 2 Supply Teacher, you are responsible for maintaining high expectations and helping pupils bridge the gap to more independent learning.
- Confident Curriculum Delivery: Deliver engaging lessons in Literacy and Numeracy that challenge "Greater Depth" learners while supporting those meeting expectations.
- Phonics & Reading: Continue to embed strong decoding skills and foster a genuine love for reading as children move toward more complex texts.
- Classroom Leadership: Maintain a focused and positive learning environment using established behaviour management strategies.
- Consistent Continuity: Follow the permanent teacher's planning accurately or use your own high-quality "emergency" resources to ensure a productive day of learning.
Essential Requirements
We are looking for qualified professionals who understand the nuances of the Year 2 curriculum. You are an ideal fit if you:
- Hold QTS: You have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Are a Year 2 Expert: You have a solid understanding of KS1 assessment frameworks and the Year 2 National Curriculum.
- Are Resilient & Adaptable: You can step into a new classroom and quickly understand the needs of the pupils and the school's specific routines.
- Are Committed: You hold an enhanced DBS on the update service (or are willing to apply) and are 100% dedicated to Safeguarding.
