Help strengthen our team as a 24/7 Network Operations Centre (NOC) Engineer, working onsite at our brand new Tech Ops Command Centre in Hillview House. We've just launched this purpose-built hub and are growing a high impact team of NOC engineers who thrive in fast paced, high visibility operational environments.
This position follows a structured shift pattern:
Days: 4 on (7am-7pm), 4 off, 4 on, 4 off
Nights: 4 on (7pm-7am), 4 off, 4 on, 4 off
Then the cycle repeats with days again.
We're looking for an experienced Network Engineer (minimum 3+ years) to join our 24/7 operations team. You'll be responsible for monitoring, diagnosing, and resolving network issues across a diverse customer base, ensuring stability and performance at all times.
What we are looking for:
• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Network Engineer in an enterprise or NOC environment.
• Strong hands-on network troubleshooting skills (routing, switching, WAN/LAN, circuits).
• Ideally CCNA certified (open to strong candidates without certification).
• Comfortable working in a 24/7 shift rotation and onsite in Belfast.
• Experience collaborating with third‑party suppliers and managing escalations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Eligible for Security Clearance.
This is a hands-on technical role requiring genuine network engineering experience. You'll work closely with key teams across TechOps while supporting mission‑critical network environments.
What You'll Be Doing
• Act as the first point of technical escalation for network-related incidents.
• Log, manage, and resolve faults/service requests-aiming for high first-time fix rates.
• Work within defined SLAs to ensure timely and effective incident resolution.
• Maintain accurate, detailed shift handovers and keep tickets updated throughout the lifecycle.
• Communicate clearly with customers, suppliers, and engineering teams.
• Troubleshoot and configure Cisco, Juniper, and Adtran switches/routers, DSLAMs, modems, and associated network systems.
• Manage circuit faults across ADSL, SDSL, Ethernet, NGA, MPF, and SMPF.
• Liaise with third‑party suppliers and field engineers to progress and resolve incidents.
• Monitor network performance and alerts using SolarWinds.
