Our 10 operating theatres, including a hybrid theatre, support complex procedures across areas such as Orthopaedics, Robotics, ENT and General Surgery, alongside our MITU day case unit focused on advanced, minimally invasive techniques. We offer a collaborative, patient focused environment where teams work closely together to deliver safe, personalised care. About the role This is a full time, permanent role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with early and late shifts. MITU is a fast-paced day case environment supporting a varied caseload across Ophthalmology, Plastics, Gynaecology and Urology. It is a great opportunity to work closely with experienced Consultants and a well-established theatre team, delivering high quality patient care throughout the perioperative pathway. We are looking for someone with previous scrub experience who is confident in theatres, organised in their approach and able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team Key responsibilities Prepare theatre lists by ensuring instruments, equipment and consumables are ready for use Undertake the scrub role across a range of procedures, following all safety checks and protocols Support patient positioning and transfers in line with clinical guidance Assist in circulating duties where required to maintain theatre flow Monitor and manage stock levels within the theatre environment Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control Contribute to service improvement and support a positive team culture Provide guidance and support to less experienced team members Skills and experience Registered Nurse with the NMC or Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC registration Previous scrub experience within a theatre setting Exposure to Ophthalmology, Plastics, Gynaecology or Urology would be beneficial Minimum 1-year post registration experience in theatres Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team Well organised and able to manage a busy clinical workload Apply We review applications on a rolling basis and may close this advert early once positions are filled.
