Summary
This is a full-time post of 10 PAs: 8 PAs for direct clinical care for elective work, 1 PA for on call and 1 SPA. Timetable The content of the job plan will reflect an interest in obstetrics and major complex cancer surgery. Some sessions are delivered flexibly depending on service needs and the skills and interests of the successful candidate. Each session of four hours attracts 1.25 PAs to include pre- and postoperative care. The successful candidate may occasionally be asked to cover anaesthetic work at Charing Cross Hospital or St Marys Hospital, depending on need. The on call commitment for the post holder will be a prospective 1:8 non-resident rota covering obstetrics. There is a dedicated resident anaesthetist (ST5-7 level) covering labour ward out of hours. The SPA allocation will be 1 per week (4 hours). SPA time is given to support continuing professional development, teaching, clinical governance and preparation for appraisal.
