Summary
Choices Healthcare is an established health and social care organisation that supplies a variety of healthcare staff to the NHS, various local authorities, and private clients alike. In addition, we provide supported living accommodations and both internal and external healthcare training. We currently operate across Southeast England with scope for expansion.
Choices are recruiting for Support Workers who think openly and imaginatively to support our clients.
Support Workers looking to further their careers with Choices Healthcare - Supported Living Services, can take on extra responsibility and gain the additional experience that comes with the role by applying to become a Senior Support Worker. And for people looking to gain further and develop their leadership skills, becoming a senior support worker or service manager represents the next step in a career with Choices Healthcare Services.
Support Worker Duties and Responsibilities:
• To support and develop the life skills of the clients to prepare them for independent living
• Help managing their accommodation,
• To undertake household duties when required in order that a safe, clean and comfortable environment is maintained;
• Monitor and support the clients to manage their money
• To contribute to the planning, delivery, and reviewing of support plans;
• Provide weekly/monthly case notes
• To attend LAC / other meetings and reviews of young people supported by the organization.
• Carry out one to one key working support sessions
• Support into education, employment and training
Support Worker Requirements and Qualifications:
• Knowledge of standards and requirements in the support work field
• Service-oriented with a passion for helping people
• Solid interpersonal communication skills, with an emphasis on active listening
• Ability to build strong relationships and gain trust
• Empathetic approach, a non-judgmental attitude, and a willingness to be patient
• Physical ability to complete domestic duties
• Strong problem solving and leadership skills
• Level head with the ability to stay calm, even in high-pressure situations
• Time management skills and the willingness to prioritize the needs of many clients
• Ability to maintain client confidentiality
• 2+ years of experience in a Support Worker role
• Proven compassionate and patient demeanor
• Hold a certificate in Health and Social Care Level 2, and be willing to working towards Level 3 while in post.
