Job purpose
I am seeking a Carer / Personal Assistant to keep me safe and happy and facilitate with things that I can do.

About me
I am a 54-year-old male with a traumatic brain injury which has left me severely disabled and unable to assist myself any way, and unable to talk most of the time. I live with my parents in their family home, and I enjoy playing games, watching TV and eating out. I have an adult son who visits me, and I also spend time with my wife.
The family home is fully adapted for my needs with a hospital bed, stand-aids, hoists and my own wet room. I have a wheelchair accessible vehicle which is used for appointments and recreational purposes. I also have a hydrotherapy pool.
My mother manages my affairs and is the responsible person to report to.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting with all personal care, including toileting.
Supporting with eating and drinking as I have an impaired swallow.
Administering medication as specified in my care plan.
Keeping me stimulated and engaged with my surroundings.

Essential Criteria
Personality, empathy and reliability are more important than experience as full mandatory training will be provided.
The ability to fit in with a small team and respecting my family are important to me.

Summary terms and conditions
Hours, days and times of work: Tuesday and Thursday, 8am to 4pm, Wednesday, 8am to 12 noon, Alternate Saturdays, 8am to 1pm, and one Monday in a 4-week cycle, 8am to 4pm. This is a total of 98 hours every 4 weeks.
Pay rate: £12.74 per hour
Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
