We are a warm and friendly family based near Billingshurst looking for caring, proactive and reliable Personal Assistants to support me and my two young children who are 3 and 7 months old while my partner is at work.

This is a varied and rewarding role supporting family life both inside and outside the home. You would be assisting me as a mum taking the children out to activities aswell as engaging in fun at home such as painting, games etc.

There will be some personal care support and some light duties around the home.

I am looking for support for up to 37.5 hrs a week Mon to Fri but the hours can be shared with another PA for am and pm shifts. My condition is progressive so this will be a long-term permanent role.

Duties include:
- Moving and handling
- Cooking
- Transportation
- General support: socialising, assisting with outdoor activities such as the local parks, Fisher's Farm, walks, cafes, etc.
- Supporting the children with activities inside the home, including the employer, as much as possible. My 3 year old is at nursery on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Changing and cleaning baby during a nappy change and helping with potty for 3 year old
- Making lunch/tea
- Supporting employer with breastfeeding, bottle feeding and weaning.
- Engaging with employer and children inside the home with activities (could be painting, drawing, TV, games, etc. – ideas will be given)
- Assisting employer with transferring to the toilet (track hoist for lifting, portable shower chair and a wash/dry toilet available) - If you do not have experience with hoists/slings, you will be able to practise with support before being expected to do this task alone.
- General light cleaning when the children have made a mess throughout the day, such as tidying toys and cleaning food mess (no deep cleaning or having the home immaculate is expected, just general tidiness after activities)
- Assisting with other reasonable requests (topping up her water bottle, grabbing a specific item, etc.)
- Changing childrens clothes (if clothes get excessively dirty or wet throughout the day) – 3 year old can dress herself with a little support.
- On the odd occasion you may need to do a nursey pick up if the normal family support is not available but this will try to be avoided if possible.

Candidate qualities:
- Respectful of the employer's privacy and confidentiality
- Reliable with good timekeeping
- Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
- Hygienic, tidy and well organised
- Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
- Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
- Honest and cheerful
- Creative
- Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
- Able to always work to high standards of health & safety

Additional requirements
Non-smoker preferred or someone willing to refrain from smoking during working hours

Notes:
All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.

If you are successful in your application for this position, you will be either engaged directly or employed by the individual employer and not by Independent Lives.
