Summary

We are recruiting for a Collection and Delivery Driver to join the team at our Mercedes-Benz dealership located in Skelmersdale!

As a Collection and Delivery Driver you will be responsible for the delivery and collection of all vehicles (both HGV’s and vans) in a safe, courteous and efficient manner. The role will require you to plan delivery routes efficiently, inspect vehicles at the time of collection and comply with driver hours regulations.

We are looking for someone who has experience in a similar role, is committed to providing the highest levels of customer service and will be a shining eStar ambassador when out on the road.

Package Details:
• £29,741 - £31,753 per annum, depending on experience
• Based from Skelmersdale with daily and frequent travel to customer sites
• 45 hours per week, Monday – Friday
• 07:00 - 16:30
• 23 days’ holiday each year, plus bank holidays

Key Purpose of the Job:
• To ensure customer satisfaction in the delivery and collection of vehicles
• To carry out such work in a safe and economical manner
• To employ such knowledge and skills as may be required to drive vehicles
• To conduct all transactions with customers with the utmost courtesy

Accountabilities:
• To collect/deliver all vehicles (HGV’s and vans) safely, courteously and efficiently to the satisfaction of our customers
• Prior to departure, check the customer’s collection/delivery instructions
• To plan delivery routes efficiently to minimise driving and maximise cost effectiveness
• To achieve realistic delivery times following pre-arranged schedules
• To inspect vehicles at time of collection noting any damage on a damage report
• To ensure all vehicle deliveries are authorised and signed for on receipt
• To ensure vehicle security at all times
• To ensure that vehicles are not loaded when collected
• To comply with driver hours regulations and to use the tachograph equipment as applicable
• To ensure that all work undertaken is conducted to our Quality System requirements and procedures and all administration is documented correctly
• To promptly address the needs of all our potential customers to ensure total customer satisfaction
• To demonstrate the ability to acquire product knowledge through everyday practices and training courses
• To ensure the vehicle is clean and tidy and report any vehicle defects (this may include undertaking some cleaning duties)
• To ensure compliance with the Health and Safety Policy and ISO requirements
• To comply with all Company Policies, in particular the Company Driving and Company Vehicle Policy

Skills and Competencies Required:
• Understanding of vehicle layouts for both HGV’s and vans
• To hold a relevant current valid driving licence – UK Class 1 licence (essential)
• To hold full current Driver CPC (essential)
• Experience in a similar role
• Enthusiasm to deliver the Mercedes-Benz customer experience
• Good administration skills/organisation skills
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Flexible approach to work and adaptable to thrive in a changing environment
• IT literate
