Summary

SEN Specialist Tutor (ADHD & ASD) - Outreach

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Prospero Teaching is looking for an experienced SEN Specialist Tutor to provide bespoke 1:1 education to young people in Havering who are currently not attending school. This role is ideal for someone with strong experience supporting learners with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other additional needs.

As an SEN Outreach Tutor, you will plan and deliver tailored, engaging sessions that help pupils bridge learning gaps, rebuild confidence, and re-establish a positive routine. Many students will have been out of mainstream education for some time, so the ability to motivate, reassure and adapt to diverse learning styles is essential.

Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to track student progress and ensure high‑quality learning and support.

CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS
- Location: Havering and surrounding areas
- Position: SEN 1:1 Outreach Tutor (ADHD & ASD focus)
- Type of work: Contract
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: Varies by learner
- Contract type: Temporary
- Hours: Flexible - minimum 1‑hour sessions, up to 3 hours
- Availability: Part‑time or full‑time depending on your schedule
- Minimum rate of pay: From £25 per hour

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
- Experience supporting pupils with ADHD and ASD
- At least 6 months' experience in a UK school
- Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training (desirable)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

To be considered for this role, you must:
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child‑barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
- Provide two professional, child‑related references from the last two years
