GCSE English & Maths Tutor (1:1 Outreach)
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated GCSE English and Maths Tutor to deliver personalised 1:1 support to young people in Bromley who are currently not attending mainstream school or require additional support afterschool.
In this role, you will design and deliver tailored sessions aimed at closing learning gaps, rebuilding confidence, and helping pupils re‑engage with their education. Many of the learners you will work with may have been out of school for an extended period, so a patient, encouraging approach is essential.
This position is ideal for an experienced teacher or tutor looking to provide meaningful, individualised support outside of a traditional classroom setting. Prospero Teaching will work closely with you to monitor pupil progress and ensure effective, engaging learning.
CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS
- Location: Bromley and surrounding areas
- Position: 1:1 Outreach Tutor (GCSE English & Maths)
- Type of work: Contract
- Start date: ASAP
- Duration: Varies by pupil
- Contract type: Temporary
- Hours: Afterschool or within school hours available (minimum 1‑hour sessions, up to 3 hours per learner)
- Rate of pay: From £25 per hour
- Full/part-time: Flexible based on your availability
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS
- QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent qualification
- Minimum 6 months' experience working in a UK school
- Up‑to‑date Safeguarding training (desirable but not essential)
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
To work with Prospero Teaching, you must:
- Hold the Right to Work in the UK
- Have an enhanced, child‑barred list DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
- Provide two professional, child‑related references covering the last two years
