Summary
About the Role
PPHorizons Limited is seeking an experienced Spanish teacher to deliver high-quality language instruction across Key Stages 3 to 5 within secondary schools and alternative provision settings.
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective classroom management, and the ability to engage and inspire learners of varying abilities, including those requiring additional support.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Spanish lessons aligned with the National Curriculum and/or GCSE/A-Level specifications
* Teach within the secondary school environment, adapting delivery to meet diverse learner needs
* Assess, record, and report on student progress in line with school policies
* Prepare students for internal assessments and external examinations (e.g., GCSE, A-Level)
* Maintain a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment
* Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning where required
* Uphold safeguarding responsibilities in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE)
* Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and school activities as required
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
* Degree in Spanish or a related Modern Foreign Languages discipline
* Proven experience teaching Spanish in UK secondary school settings
* Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and examination frameworks
* Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to plan and deliver differentiated lessons
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
Desirable Criteria
* Experience teaching A-Level Spanish
* Experience in alternative provision or SEN settings (preferred)
* Familiarity with exam boards (AQA, Edexcel, OCR)
* Use of digital learning tools and platforms
* Compliance & Safeguarding Requirements
