Summary
The Emergency Department is part of the Acute Medicine Business Unit (as well as MAU, ambulatory care centre and short stay wards) within the Medical Division alongside CCU, Respiratory andRenal/General HDUs and all medical specialties. The Childrens Emergency Department is part of the Paediatric Business Unit, which is within the Women and Childrens Division. The senior Emergency Department team meet monthly and there is a quarterly clinical governance day and quarterlyConsultant Education day. The post holder is expected to commit to ongoing personal development and to show a commitment to maintaining and developing skills and professional knowledge relevant to the post, and to develop a portfolio of evidence. Also to participate and fully engage in the process of appraisal, including 360 degree appraisal, and the development of a Personal Development Plan (PDP) including personal objectives.
