Summary
Uniserve connects businesses with their customers through a network of excellence. We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Transport Planner to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods across our network.
What you'll be doing:
Develop efficient, cost‑effective transport routes and schedules across all modes
Analyse transport options, considering cost, time, capacity, and environmental impact
Monitor KPIs such as on‑time delivery, fuel use, and vehicle utilisation
Drive process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs
Build strong relationships with internal teams, carriers, suppliers, and customers
Identify transport risks and implement effective contingency plans
Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices
Ensure full compliance with safety, legal, and regulatory requirements
What you'll bring:
Experience in working within a busy transport operation
Experience in planning multi drop groupage and full loads
Managing drivers / customers on a daily basis
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data and make informed decisions
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and transport planning software
A collaborative and team-oriented approach with a strong work ethic
A commitment to safety and compliance with all relevant regulations
