Summary

Ipswich Borough Council’s Park Protection Team are responsible for ensuring the safety of visitors and upkeep of all parks & open spaces around Ipswich seven days a week.

Our work is not only limited to parks, it also extends to allotments, cemeteries, play areas and recreation grounds. Whether it be deterring antisocial behaviour, locking and unlocking parks, litter picking, dealing with public enquires, working alongside other departments or carrying out play area inspections; no two days are the same.

We are looking for two people to join our team on a fixed term contract for 15 hours per week, to help us with the extended seasonal hours.

If you are someone who likes working outside, enjoys parks and open spaces with a full driving licence we would welcome your application. We would need you to work at least one evening a week to assist with the closing of our parks and a minimum of one weekend shift (a Saturday or Sunday).

You will be quick thinking and able to use your own initiative. You will be physically capable of carrying out foot patrols over long distances. You will also be required to use an airwaves radio and record information via a smart phone.
