Description
The Senior Court Officer plays a crucial role within the judicial system, ensuring the smooth operation of court proceedings and maintaining the integrity of the justice process. This position requires a proactive and detail-oriented individual who can manage various aspects of court operations, from scheduling cases to overseeing courtrooms during hearings. The Senior Court Officer will be responsible for coordinating with judges, legal staff, and law enforcement to establish an efficient flow of court activities. Additionally, this role serves as a guiding force for junior court staff, providing mentorship and training to foster a culture of excellence within the court. Responsibilities
Oversee daily court operations including scheduling hearings and managing case flow.
Coordinate activities among judges, attorneys, and court staff to ensure efficient court proceedings.
Manage courtroom logistics, including setting up equipment and maintaining order during sessions.
Ensure compliance with legal protocols and court procedures to uphold the integrity of the judicial process.
Provide guidance and training to junior court staff and new employees on court policies and procedures.
Prepare and maintain accurate records of court proceedings and case management.
Address inquiries from the public and legal professionals regarding court procedures and case status.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, public administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years experience in court operations or legal settings, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of court procedures, policies, and relevant legal terminology.
Exceptional organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
Proficient in computer software used in court management and record-keeping systems.
Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure while making informed decisions.
Hours Per Week: 36.50
Start Time: 08:45
End Time: 17:15
