Summary

MIG Welder/Fabricator – Temp to Perm – Nottingham (Travel Required)

Maptalent are urgently recruiting for an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator on a temp-to-perm basis for a busy and growing company in Nottinghamshire.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and dependable individual seeking long-term employment with the potential to secure a permanent role.

Key Responsibilities:
• MIG welding and fabrication of structural and bespoke components
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications
• Preparing materials, cutting, grinding, and assembling components prior to welding
• Setting up and operating MIG welding equipment safely and efficiently
• Inspecting welds to ensure they meet quality and safety standards
• Carrying out repairs and maintenance on fabricated structures
• Supporting on-site installation works as required
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment at all times

Requirements:
• Proven experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator
• Valid CSCS card
• Full, clean driving licence
• Willingness to travel to London and stay away in lodgings for installation projects when required
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic

Qualifications & Skills:
• Relevant welding/fabrication qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Welding & Fabrication or equivalent)
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and weld symbols
• Knowledge of different metals and welding techniques
• Experience using fabrication tools and machinery (e.g. grinders, saws, drills)
• Understanding of health & safety regulations within a workshop and site environment
• Coding/approval to recognised welding standards (desirable but not essential)
