About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join Bridge Academy Trust to support our new initiative supporting reading across our 4 secondary schools. The successful candidate will be primarily based at The Ramsey Academy, Halstead, working with identified children 1-2-1 (or very small group) to accelerate their reading age. You will be supported by a dedicated team to bring about the desired improvements. You will maximise the use of school’s reading schemes and liaise with the school-based reading leads to ensure that staff, parents, and children are all engaged in the reading intervention programme. The aim is for these children to have a reading age in-line with their biological age as soon as possible.
We are seeking to appoint an individual who:
• Is passionate about literature and engaging pupils with reading
• Has experience in reading schemes used in schools
• Has the ability to adapt teaching of reading to meet pupils’ needs
• Has the ability to build effective working relationships with pupils
• Is ambitious for our pupils, our schools and themselves.
What the school offers its staff
• A supportive environment with a welcoming team who are hardworking and committed to achieving the best outcomes
• High quality continual professional development
• Shared working of a community-focused, multi-academy trust
• The opportunity to be part of the school’s exciting journey of improvement
• Career development and opportunity to progress within the school/multi-academy trust
Commitment to safeguarding
This Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check, medical clearance and satisfactory references. Bridge Academy Trust welcomes applications from those of all backgrounds, faiths and ethnic groups.
