Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.

Activities Assistant

  • £12.21 per hour
  • 37.5 hours per week
  • Shift times: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (30 minute unpaid break)
  • Pension, Paid DBS, Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave based on a full time contract

The Role
As an Activities Assistant, you will work closely with the Activities Coordinator and wider care team to support residents in living meaningful and fulfilling lives. You will help deliver a varied programme of activities that support residents’ emotional, social and physical wellbeing.

This role requires a creative, compassionate and adaptable individual who can support residents with complex needs including dementia and end of life care. You will provide both group activities and one to one engagement, ensuring every resident has opportunities for stimulation, comfort and meaningful connection.

You will help organise activities, support outings and events, maintain activity records and ensure activities are inclusive and tailored to each resident’s interests, abilities and care needs.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous experience working in care and supporting people living with dementia
  • A creative and compassionate approach to engaging residents
  • Ability to support one to one engagement and end of life comfort activities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Organised, flexible and enthusiastic about supporting residents’ wellbeing
