Summary
Are you a high-caliber Science Teacher with a strong background in Chemistry or Biology? Randstad is seeking a dedicated specialist for an immediate start to support a vibrant secondary school in Blackburn through the remainder of the academic year (until July 2026).
This is a full-time, 5-day-a-week placement. You will be stepping into a well-resourced department where you can truly make an impact, taking ownership of GCSE classes and helping students achieve their target grades in the upcoming exam season.
The Opportunity-
Duration: Immediate start - July 2026 (Full Summer Term).

Schedule: 5 days per week (Monday - Friday).

Pay Rate: £150 - £220 per day (paid weekly via PAYE), dependent on experience and scale.

Focus: Delivering high-level Biology and Chemistry across KS3 and KS4 (GCSE).

GCSE Preparation: Take the lead on Year 11 Chemistry and Biology modules, ensuring students are confident with practical requirements and theoretical concepts.

Laboratory Leadership: Plan and oversee safe, engaging practical experiments in line with the curriculum and health and safety standards.

Data-Driven Teaching: Use assessment data to identify learning gaps and implement targeted interventions for students tracking below their target grades.

Full Departmental Role: Attend staff meetings, contribute to schemes of work, and engage in parent-teacher consultations as required.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): A degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a closely related Science field is essential.

Proven Track Record: Experience teaching Science at KS3 and KS4 with a demonstrable impact on student progress.

Classroom Management: The ability to foster a focused, respectful, and inquisitive learning environment.
