Summary

Project Manager - Engineering & Defence
Location: Kidlington, Oxfordshire
Hours: 37.5 per week
Type: Permanent

Our client, a leading aerospace organisation, is hiring for a Project Manager to join their Customisation and Development team at Oxford Airport. This is an exciting opportunity to lead complex helicopter retrofit projects for prestigious clients including the UK MOD, Police Services, Air Ambulance, and VIP customers.

What you'll be doing:
* Managing multiple projects from initiation to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
* Leading cross-disciplinary teams and fostering strong stakeholder relationships.
* Applying and developing project controls, risk management, and lessons learned processes.
* Ensuring compliance with aviation regulations (EASA, UK CAA, UK MAA) and internal standards.
* Monitoring project performance using KPIs such as schedule and cost control (SPI & CPI).
* Representing projects through governance forums, providing clear progress updates and risk assessments.

What you'll bring:
* Proven success in delivering complex projects within an aerospace or aviation environment.
* Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
* Expertise in project planning, risk management, and financial control.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
* Formal project management training (e.g., PRINCE2, APMP).
* Current SC security clearance and a valid UK driving licence.
* Knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA, UK CAA, MAA).

Desirable skills:
* Experience with Primavera P6, SAP, or customer-facing roles.
* Background in aviation engineering or a Pt21 environment.
* Bid management experience.

* Flexibility to travel and work on-site at Oxford Airport.
