We are currently recruiting for an Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Technician to join a busy and fast-paced operation at Heathrow. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional looking to work with a wide range of specialist equipment supporting airport operations.
Salary & Progression
- Starting salary: £49,500
- After passing probation: + £2,000 increase
- After meeting role requirements (typically around 1 year service): + additional £2,000 increase
- 7 days on, 3 days off, 7 days on, 4 days off
- Early Shift: 05:30 - 13:30
- Late Shift: 14:30 - approximately 22:30 (until last flight departure, delays possible)
- City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification
- Plant or Heavy Goods Vehicle training
- LGV UK driving licence (advantageous)
- Experience working with diesel and electric vehicles
- Knowledge of hydraulics and welding
- Experience working in a busy workshop environment
- Strong ability to diagnose mechanical faults without modern OBD tools
- Solid understanding of hydraulic systems and maintenance
- Background working with commercial vehicles, particularly diesel engines
- Skilled in manual diagnostics and traditional mechanical troubleshooting
