We are recruiting a dedicated Pastoral Mentor to join a secondary school with sixth form in Newham, supporting students across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5.

This is a varied role combining pastoral support and Learning Support Assistant responsibilities, ideal for someone who can support students both emotionally and academically. You will work closely with teaching staff, Heads of Year and SEN teams to ensure students are fully supported in accessing the curriculum and achieving positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 and small-group pastoral support across KS3-KS5
- Support students with behaviour, engagement and emotional wellbeing
- Assist in lessons as an LSA, supporting learning across subjects
- Work closely with Heads of Year, SEN staff and teaching teams
- Support students during lessons, interventions and unstructured times
- Promote positive behaviour, attendance and inclusion

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Experience in a pastoral, behaviour or LSA role within a school setting
- Confidence working across secondary and sixth form (KS3-KS5)
- A calm, proactive and supportive approach
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
- Background in SEN, mentoring, youth work or education (desirable)

- Close to Canning Town (Jubilee Line & DLR) and East Ham / Plaistow (District Line)
