Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Learning Support Assistant will include, but are not limited to:
- Providing one-on-one and small-group support to students with various learning needs, including those with special educational needs, physical disabilities, and emotional or behavioural challenges.
- Collaborating with teaching staff to develop and implement tailored learning strategies and differentiated lesson plans that cater to the unique needs of each student.
- Monitoring student progress, documenting observations, and communicating regularly with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.
- Assisting students with completing assignments, organising their work, and developing effective study skills and learning habits.
- Facilitating the use of assistive technologies and other adaptive equipment to enable students to access the curriculum and participate fully in the learning process.
- Encouraging and motivating students to engage actively in their learning, fostering a sense of confidence and self-belief.
- Participating in staff training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities to continually enhance your skills and stay up-to-date with best practices in learning support.
- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment that promotes the wellbeing and personal growth of all students.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications, skills, and attributes:
- A relevant educational or teaching assistant qualification, or a willingness to work towards one.
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in an educational or childcare setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
