Summary
To lead the Trustwide development, implementation and monitoring of quality, safety and governance processes related to the use of medicines, with a focus on reporting, learning and the development of preventative strategies for medicationrelated incidents and adverse medication events. The overarching aim of this role is to improve the safety of patients, service users and staff in all aspects of medicines use. To support the Trust in meeting its clinical governance, quality, safety, risk and financial management responsibilities relating to medicines. To act as the Medication Safety Officer (MSO) for Nottinghamshire Healthcare, in line with Patient Safety Alert NHS/PSA/D/2014/005. This includes serving as a key link between the identification and implementation of medication safety initiatives and the operational activities required to improve the safe use of medicines. The post holder will work closely with patient safety and quality teams to enhance patient experience, reduce risks associated with medicines, and strengthen medicines governance. To assist the Chief Pharmacist and Deputy Chief Pharmacists with the strategic planning of pharmacy services. To provide expert pharmacological and clinical advice on all pharmaceutical and medicinesrelated matters.
