Summary

Detailed job description and main responsibilities Ensure the delivery of high quality care through the Dementia pathway and demonstrate high personal standards in clinical practice. To ensure care is provided in line with National Dementia Strategy, NICE Guidance, COT Recovering Ordinary Lives Mental Health Strategy and COT Care Cluster guidance including other relevant local and national documentation. Responsible for prioritising workload, managing own time and to cover all levels of priority of work within the service. See service users in a variety of locations as appropriate, to support specialist assessments (within service specification) to identify needs. Identify appropriate recommendations/ actions/ sign posting in consultation with multi-disciplinary staff (under qualified Occupational Therapist supervision) Deliver a range of non-pharmacological interventions to enable understanding of any expression of an unmet need and to maximise meaningful engagement and quality of life. Support the delivery of group interventions as required. Complete and contribute, where appropriate to robust risk assessments and risk management plans. Deliver and promote positive risk taking, where appropriate, to improve quality of life and maximise occupational performance/independence. Take responsibility for the management of a defined caseload, under the supervision and support of qualified Occupational Therapy colleagues. Actively engage in Multi-Disciplinary Team meetings and discussions to explore service user needs and identify the most appropriate approaches and treatments Knowledge of national, regional and local drivers underpinning service delivery
