Welfare Officer - (Maternity Cover)
Ealing, West London
Start Date: 20th April
Full Time | 8:00am – 4:00pm | Term Time
Loyal Blue Recruitment are working closely with a welcoming and well-run secondary school in Ealing to recruit a Welfare Officer for a maternity cover position starting this April.
This is a key role within the school, ideal for someone who enjoys supporting young people, thrives in a busy environment, and takes pride in keeping things organised, calm and running smoothly.
The Role
You will be the main point of contact for student welfare and first aid, while also supporting the wider school administration team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the lead First Aider and managing the school’s Welfare Room
Supporting students with medical needs and keeping accurate records
Liaising with parents, staff and external agencies where needed
Managing student medical information, care plans and medication
Supporting with school trips administration and welfare planning
Assisting with general admin duties and reprographics when required
Playing a key role in maintaining a safe, organised and supportive school environment
This is a varied role where no two days are the same, and where your work will genuinely make a difference to students’ day-to-day experience.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone reliable, organised and confident working in a school setting.
Essential requirements:
Current First Aid qualification
Previous experience working in a school environment
Strong administration and organisational skills
Confident using IT systems (e.g. SIMS / MS Office)
Excellent communication skills with both adults and students
Ability to stay calm and professional in busy or sensitive situations
Experience supporting welfare, pastoral care or medical needs in schools would be a strong advantage.
