We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic senior Occupational Therapist to join our Integrated Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy within Specialist medicine & Renal Medicine at Hammersmith Hospital. This is an exciting opportunity within a major London teaching hospital, ideal for an ambitious OT looking to broaden their clinical skills and experience and provide high quality therapy services.

In this pivotal role, you will provide expert clinical Occupational Therapy and supervisory support to Occupational therapists, ensuring safe, effective and patient centred therapy services. Working closely with Therapy Clinical Leads, MDT colleagues and operational teams, you will help drive innovation, contribute to service development and champion evidence based, compassionate care.

You will support in providing professional occupational therapy leadership across the Hammersmith Hospital site.

• To be professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of own work, including management of patients in your care and undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.
• To provide comprehensive and specialist therapy assessment and diagnosis for patients with a range of highly complex presentations, by utilising advanced clinical reasoning, evidence-based knowledge, investigative and analytical skills and specialist assessment techniques.
• To plan and organise time efficiently and effectively with regard to patient management and use of time. To be accountable for the designated area of work.
• To flexibly manage responsibilities for own complex caseload, service delivery and teaching commitments. To decide priorities for own work, balancing other patient related and professional demands and ensure that these remain in accordance with those of the teams.
• As a lead member of the department, ensure teaching programmes and clinical education / supervision meet the needs of more junior staff’s education and development to ensure that a specialist knowledge of intervention is acquired at all levels. To develop and conduct local in-service and MDT training.
• Promote a culture of research awareness, research preparedness and activity in the team
• To take a lead in the development of the specialist clinical area/team and develop objectives and support prioritisation of projects for the team.
